This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy hospitality environment and takes pride in preparing fresh, high-quality food. You’ll work alongside the Kitchen Manager and wider kitchen team to deliver consistently excellent dishes for our guests.

The Role

As a Line Chef at The Cricketers, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to our standards while maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.

You’ll work across different sections of the kitchen, supporting smooth service and ensuring every dish is prepared with care, consistency and attention to detail.

Kitchen Responsibilities

You will prepare, cook and present food in line with recipes, portion specifications and food safety standards.

You’ll work effectively during busy services, communicating clearly with the kitchen and front‑of‑house teams to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.

Responsibilities will include maintaining your section, completing preparation before service, monitoring stock levels and helping to minimise waste.

You will also ensure that all kitchen areas, equipment and work surfaces are kept clean and organised throughout the shift.

Food Quality & Safety

You will follow all food hygiene, health and safety procedures, including correct food storage, allergen controls, temperature checks and safe cleaning practices.

You’ll maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency across every service.

Working as part of the wider team, you’ll contribute to a positive kitchen environment and support colleagues whenever required.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about food, dependable and comfortable working in a fast‑paced kitchen.

Previous experience as a Line Chef, Commis Chef, Chef de Partie or in a similar kitchen role would be beneficial, although training may be available for the right candidate.

You should have a positive attitude, good communication skills and the ability to remain calm and organised during busy periods.

You’ll also need to be willing to learn, follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a professional kitchen team.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen service.
  • Understanding of food hygiene, health and safety and allergen awareness.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy services.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in food quality and presentation.
  • Good communication skills and a reliable, team‑focused approach.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and during busy trading periods.
