The Federation of Cowick and Pollington-Balne CE Primary Schools are seeking to appoint a cook to head our team at Cowick in our unique micro kitchen.

This post will suit a cook with experience of working in school catering. Training on use of the new equipment will be given prior to commencement.

The ideal candidate will desirably hold a catering qualification, such as NVQ level 3/ 706 1 and 2, but must have a minimum of a Level 3 food hygiene qualification. Knowledge of the current allergen legislation introduced by the government and a working knowledge of the Governments’ food standards regarding school food and drink, along with knowledge of special dietary needs and nutritional requirements is essential.

You will need to be a team player who can work to a high standard, whilst possessing the appropriate supervisory skills to manage a kitchen. You will also need to be approachable, enthusiastic, flexible and committed to provide and develop our service further.

On a daily basis you will be responsible for preparation, cooking and service of food having consideration of a range of special dietary requirements, food safety regulations, food standards for school food, health and safety regulations and local authority regulations, along with maintaining the high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen.
