Assistant Store Manager

As an Assistant Store Manager at Vision Express, you’ll support the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the store. This includes managing a team, ensuring excellent customer service, achieving sales targets, and maintaining high standards of visual merchandising and store presentation. You’ll also assist with administrative tasks such as stock ordering and management, cash handling, and reporting, and play a key role in creating a positive and productive work environment that meets business objectives.

• Strong leadership and management skills to support colleagues in store.
• Excellent communication and rapport building skills to translate professional terminology into language understood by patients.
• Exceptional attention to detail in maintaining accurate customer records, prescriptions, and requirements.
• Teamwork with colleagues across the store team, including Eye Care Professionals, Optical Assistants, and Management.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Confidence, passion, drive and enthusiasm.
• Ability to monitor and analyse sales performance data to identify areas for improvement.
• Experience in training and coaching store colleagues to ensure everyone is working to the best of their ability and towards the company mission.
