Vergo is the UK’s largest independent pest management provider, with over 40 years’ experience supporting national retail, food, and service sector clients.
We are looking for a Strategic Sales Manager to lead the acquisition of high-value national and regional contracts, working across both public and private sector opportunities.
This is a senior commercial role with full ownership of pipeline, bid strategy and deal conversion across complex, multi-site accounts.
The roleYou will be responsible for delivering new business growth through identification, development and conversion of strategic opportunities.
This is a hands-on sales leadership role. You will lead major tenders end-to-end and take accountability for outcomes, not just activity.
Key areas of focus include:
- Building and managing a pipeline of high-value national and regional opportunities
- Leading complex tenders from qualification through to negotiation and award
- Developing commercial strategy, pricing and contract structures
- Working with Account Managers on re-tenders, renewals and expansion programmes
- Ensuring governance, forecasting accuracy and CRM discipline
- Engaging senior stakeholders across clients and internal teams
The role operates with a high level of autonomy, within a clear sales governance framework.

You will have a strong track record in B2B sales, securing high-value or multi-site contracts.
You are confident leading complex tenders, commercially disciplined, and comfortable operating independently in a senior sales role.
We are looking for someone who combines structured sales rigour with the ability to navigate complex, often ambiguous procurement environments.
