Role DescriptionThe Business Development Manager is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Cardiff. This position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with key customers, and expanding market presence in target segments. Day‑to‑day tasks include prospecting and qualifying leads, preparing and delivering presentations and proposals, negotiating commercial terms, and coordinating with internal teams to support client needs. The role involves tracking market trends, analyzing competitors, and providing input into sales strategies and revenue forecasts.
The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment on growth initiatives and customer engagement.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally in a B2B environment.
- Strong skills in lead generation, opportunity qualification, and relationship building with new and existing clients.
- Ability to develop and deliver persuasive presentations, proposals, and commercial negotiations.
- Competence in market research, competitive analysis, and identifying emerging business opportunities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business productivity tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentation software).
- Results‑oriented approach with strong organizational, planning, and time‑management capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working in or with manufacturing, engineering, or technical product environments is an advantage.
- Ability to work on‑site in Cardiff and travel to customer locations or events as needed.
