Role Overview
Salary: £30,000 per annum.
Location:
Principality Stadium, Cardiff.
Hours:
40 per week, Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm, with a requirement to work flexibly, evenings and weekends as necessary and manent full‑time contract subject to a 6‑month probationary period. Closing Date: 19 January 2026.
- Carry out general maintenance duties across the stadium, including painting, plumbing, seat and barrier repairs, carpentry, door and concrete work.
- Ensure work and storage spaces are kept clean, clear and free of obstruction.
- Provide reactive and proactive maintenance support for specific event‑day issues, communicating with the maintenance supervisor and stadium control room to secure efficient resolutions.
- Take reasonable care of equipment used to carry out tasks, including general cleanliness and advising on faults and replacement requirements.
- Ensure best practice at all times and report incidents or accidents to the supervisor or manager.
- Perform inspections and checks in advance of events, including toilets, surface finishes, seating, building fabric and other relevant areas.
- Maintain staff relationships that remain courteous, professional and appropriate, identifying areas of concern to management as they arise.
- Demonstrate strong carpentry, building and decorating skills.
- Self‑motivated with a good knowledge, understanding and experience of general maintenance areas, including painting, plumbing, carpentry and other general repairs.
- Confident and able to work at heights, with the ability to climb ladders.
- Physically fit, with lifting as part of the role.
- Prepared to work some unsociable hours.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management.
- Willingness to learn from others and adapt to the needs of the business.
- Trade qualification to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 (carpentry/plumbing).
- IT skills, specifically Microsoft package.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Working towards IOSH qualification or already qualified.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Welsh communication is desirable.

- Strong relationship building with internal and external stakeholders.
- Valid UK driver’s licence is desirable.
Understand personal responsibilities in relation to the Health & Safety at Work legislation and demonstrate a working knowledge of COSHH assessment applicable in own work area.
