An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Locum Social Worker – Adults Safeguarding Team in Devon. This rewarding role places you at the forefront of safeguarding practice, protecting vulnerable adults and promoting wellbeing in line with the Care Act 2014

Undertake safeguarding enquiries in accordance with Section 42 of the Care Act 2014
.

Identify, assess, and manage risks to adults at risk of abuse or neglect.

Apply the Making Safeguarding Personal framework to ensure outcomes are led by the individual’s wishes.

Develop, implement, and review safeguarding plans in partnership with service users and relevant agencies.

Manage and prioritise a complex safeguarding caseload effectively.

Complete strengths-based assessments and statutory reviews.

Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments and facilitate Best Interest decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act.

Work collaboratively with police, NHS professionals, and care providers.

Contribute to risk management meetings, strategy discussions, and safeguarding reviews.

Challenge poor practice and elevate safeguarding concerns appropriately.

Maintain active registration with Social Work England
.

Participate in supervision, appraisal, and continuing professional development.

Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of practice.

Adhere to health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection regulations.

Degree (or equivalent) in Social Work.

Current registration with Social Work England.

Experience undertaking safeguarding enquiries within Adult Social Care.

Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014
, safeguarding duties, and the Mental Capacity Act
.

Post-qualifying award in Adult Social Care or Safeguarding.

Experience with in a Local Authority Safeguarding Team.

Knowledge of Devon safeguarding procedures.
