Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (Male Victims)

  • Based in Cardiff — with some travel to meet clients
  • 36.25 hours per week | £13.70 per hour
  • Fixed term until 31 March 2027 (potential to extend)
  • Deadline: 6th March | Interviews: 16th-17th March

Safer Wales is a passionate, independent charity dedicated to supporting people who are often unseen and unheard. For over 25 years, we've helped protect tens of thousands of individuals experiencing domestic abuse, sexual violence, exploitation, hate crime and more.

Our Dyn Project is the only service of its kind in Wales supporting heterosexual, gay, bi and trans men experiencing domestic abuse. And now, we're expanding our team.

We're looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) who's committed, motivated and ready to change lives.

What You'll Do

As part of the Dyn team, you'll provide specialist, trauma informed, gender specific support to male victims of domestic or sexual violence. Your role will include:

  • Delivering holistic, client centred support
  • Running an effective and supportive helpline for male victims
  • Working in partnership with multi agency teams to safeguard clients
  • Delivering training to professionals to raise awareness
  • Helping shape the future of our services at Safer Wales
What You Bring

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in safeguarding or a related support setting
  • A strong understanding of domestic & sexual violence dynamics
  • Confidence working within multi agency partnerships
  • Great communication and presentation skills
  • A passion for supporting men whose needs are often overlooked
