About the Job

Our Fostering Service seeks a Principal Social Worker for a non‑case holding role within a developing and growing service area. You will participate in strategic planning and development while remaining involved in day‑to‑day practice matters. Candidates should have relevant fostering experience, including quality assurance of assessments submitted by both internal and external assessors. A robust understanding of fostering regulations, the role of fostering panels, and managing support staff within the service is essential.

This is a thrilling opportunity to lead and shape practices and performance within the team, contributing to consistently high standards of service delivery. You will work closely with the Service Manager to develop tailored services for kinship and mainstream carers, ensuring a high‑quality fostering service.

What you will do
  • Help shape and influence fostering services through strategic planning and development initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and support to the fostering team, ensuring that high standards of service delivery are consistently met.
  • Supervise and support staff, fostering a productive and supportive environment.
  • Oversee the quality assurance processes of assessments from both internal and external sources.
  • Work collaboratively with the Service Manager to tailor services for kinship and mainstream carers.
  • Maintain and promote a strong understanding of fostering regulations and policies.
