Job Title: Independent Officer (Freelance) – Children’s Services Complaints

This opportunity, based in the vibrant city of Cardiff with the option for flexible and hybrid working, allows you to take charge of Stage 2 complaints under the Social Services Complaints Procedure (Wales) for a period of three months.

What you will do:
  • Conduct independent investigations into Stage 2 complaints related to Children’s Services with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with an Independent Person when necessary to uphold fairness, transparency, and statutory compliance.
  • Gather and meticulously analyse evidence, including case records, policies, and conduct interviews with relevant parties.
  • Engage sensitively and professionally with complainants, families, advocates, and other professionals to ensure effective communication.
  • Draft clear, balanced, and evidence-based investigation reports that outline findings and recommendations to drive service improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with the Social Services Complaints Procedure (Wales) Regulations throughout your investigations.
  • Identify and highlight learning opportunities to promote continuous service improvement.
