Night Support Worker Contract

£13.50-£15.50

Cardiff

We are currently recruiting for a Night Support Worker to join a supported accommodation service in Cardiff, supporting young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and helping them move towards greater stability, independence and wellbeing.

The Role

As a Night Support Worker, you will provide overnight support to young people living within the service. You will help maintain a safe and positive environment, provide reassurance and support throughout the night, and respond appropriately to any issues that arise.

You will be working independently overnight, so confidence, reliability and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations are essential.

Hours & Rota

The role is 40 hours per week on a 4-week rolling rota ( WAKE IN NIGHTS)

About You

We are looking for candidates who have experience working with vulnerable people, ideally within:

  • Support work
  • Homelessness or housing
  • Youth work
  • Social care
  • Supported accommodation
  • Other relevant support settings

You will need to be comfortable working night shifts and supporting young people who may be experiencing challenging circumstances.

Key Requirements
  • Previous experience supporting vulnerable people in a professional setting
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Driver
  • Flexibility to work weekends as part of the rota
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine commitment to supporting young people
