Work Pattern: 37 hours a week (Mon – Fri)
PAYE Pay Rate: £31.70 per hour
Main Purpose of the RoleTo provide senior social work leadership within the MASH, supporting the timely assessment of referrals, identification of safeguarding risks and effective multi-agency decision-making to protect children and young people.
Typical Day- Undertaking timely risk assessments of contacts and referrals.
- Leading high-risk multi-agency Strategy Meetings.
- Supporting the Team Manager with referral “Ragging”, allocations and authorising assessments.
- Supervising and supporting Social Workers within a small sub-team.
- Working closely with Police and other MASH partner agencies.
- Supporting staff development, learning and professional practice.
- Responding to a fast-changing workload in a busy office-based environment.
- Contributing to service development and Task Force Groups.
- Strong safeguarding and risk assessment skills.
- Experience of multi-agency working and decision-making.
- Ability to lead high-risk Strategy Meetings.
- Staff supervision, development and professional support.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and partnership-working skills.
- Ability to make sound professional decisions and authorise assessments.
- Experience working effectively with Police and other safeguarding partners.
- Commitment to service improvement and developing professional practice.
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration.
- Significant experience in children’s safeguarding/social work
. - Strong experience of risk assessment and safeguarding decision-making
. - Experience of multi-agency working
, ideally within a MASH or similar safeguarding environment. - Experience supervising or supporting Social Workers.
- Excellent communication, organisation and professional judgement.
- Social Care Wales Registration
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Enhanced DBS
