As a Principal Social Worker in the MASH Team, you will lead and influence practice and performance, honing your risk assessment and management skills. You’ll collaborate closely with the Team Manager and other partners to deliver the Signs of Safety approach. Your tasks will include managing a sub-team, supervising staff, overseeing high-risk strategy meetings, and contributing to service development. The role requires experience and confidence in decision‑making, especially in the fast‑paced MASH environment.

You’ll be pivotal in ensuring children’s safety, promoting positive relationships with partner agencies, and supporting children’s access to the appropriate services.

What you will do

  • Lead and develop a small sub-team, providing guidance and supervision.
  • Manage high-risk strategy meetings and oversee critical decision‑making processes.
  • Collaborate with the Team Manager on referrals, allocations, and assessment authorisations.
  • Foster professional relationships with MASH Partner Agencies.
  • Contribute actively to service development and partake in special Task Force Groups.
  • Support the Team Manager in promoting agile working and maintaining high service standards.
