You'll be part of a close-knit, compassionate team delivering residential therapeutic support to young people who have experienced trauma and emotional or behavioural challenges to enable them to thrive.

What the job is

Make a real difference every day Support young people who have experienced trauma, helping them feel safe, seen and heard. Nights are often when the hardest feelings surface, and a calm, familiar adult being there is what makes the difference.

Support routines, learning and life skills Help young people wind down and settle into good sleep routines, then set the home up for the morning ahead so the day starts calmly for everyone.

Be a role model and trusted adult Offer stability through consistency. The young people who struggle most at night need to know the same trusted face will be there, with patience and emotional presence, whenever they need it.

Create a safe, homely environment Work as part of a supportive team to keep the home safe and settled overnight. Be there for young people who can't sleep or wake distressed, in a home where they feel valued and accepted.

What we are looking for
  • A full UK manual driving licence
  • To be over 21
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Availability to work night shifts on a rolling rota, including some weekends
  • Comfortable staying alert and focused through the night
  • A genuine passion for working with young people
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A flexible, proactive attitude and a willingness to get involved
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and trauma-informed practice

10 hours p/w £28,840 – £30,385 per annum FTE, pro rata for 10 hours per week, Shift pattern over several weeks, to include some weekends

Previous experience is not essential for this role. Our care certificate training includes theory and work‑based training to prepare you for the role.

Offer meaningful guidance and stability by building positive, respectful relationships. Support young people through challenges with empathy, patience, and emotional presence both at home and in the wider community.

Support Routines, Learning & Life

Skills:

Help young people with daily routines, appointments, schoolwork, and activities while encouraging independence, celebrating progress, and being a steady presence in their everyday lives.

What we are looking for
  • You must hold a full UK manual driving licence (company cars provided)
  • You must be over the age of 21.
  • Have the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
  • A genuine passion for working with young people and making a positive impact in their lives
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect through empathy and trust
  • A team player with a flexible, proactive attitude and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of daily life
  • Emotionally resilient, reflective, and open to learning and feedback
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and trauma-informed practice
  • Previous experience in care, education or youth work is desirable but not essential - full training is provided
