Speechify’s mission is to make reading accessible for everyone with its text‑to‑speech products used by over 50 million people worldwide.

We are a fully distributed, remote‑first team with around 200 employees from top tech companies and startups.

The Platform team builds and maintains all backend services, including payments, analytics, subscriptions, new products, text‑to‑speech, and external APIs.

This role fits a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys shaping product decisions, and delivers exceptional user experiences.

• Design, develop and maintain robust APIs, such as the public TTS API, internal APIs for payment, subscription, auth, and consumption tracking, ensuring business and scalability requirements are met.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, continuously optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.

• Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS, Azure or other cloud providers.
• Efficient at ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.
• Preferred: experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Preferred: proficiency in deploying high‑availability applications on Kubernetes.
