We have a hybrid approach to working. Our preference is that you're located within a commutable distance of one of our offices so that we can interact and collaborate in person. In technology, we ask that you attend the office a minimum of one day per week.

We build our entire banking platform in house, mostly in Java, and put a strong emphasis on self‑driven ownership. We want engineers who are self‑driven, work across teams, and care about customers, code, and contribution.

Our mobile engineers work in cross‑functional feature teams across broader engineering groups. As an Android engineer you will work in at least one of these teams, making decisions necessary for the platform and providing insight to team leads.

You will commit, review and ship new code right from the first week, improve and develop our Android app, CI automations and tooling, and collaborate closely with other Android engineers.

As an Android engineer you’ll report to a mobile lead engineer and meet regularly. Must understand and prioritise security when implementing new features, fixing bugs or making technical improvements across all layers.

You’ll focus on accessibility, writing clean, maintainable code, and delivering stable, resilient, high‑quality code. Testing is essential: we use Espresso for UI/E2E tests, JUnit for unit tests, and work closely with QA engineers.

The majority of our codebase is written in Kotlin. We use MVVM for presentation, RxJava for asynchronous operations, Dagger for dependency injection and Realm for persistence.

We release app updates at least once a week. Release manager duties rotate across the Android team. We automate release steps and standardise from uploading to app stores to approvals.

Our Android app uses the latest technologies, prefers Kotlin, MVVM, RxJava, Dagger, and Realm.

To maintain a great look, we work closely with designers to set up a component library and theme the app. Feature parity with iOS is a priority.

We meet weekly to discuss pain points and improvements, and attend conferences and meet‑ups together.
