GP Out of Driver

Role Overview

Provide safe driving for Clinicians based within the CAV 24/7 service. This includes carrying out accurate vehicle checks and stocking/cleaning the cars as appropriate. The post holder is required to drive an equipped CAV 24/7 vehicle and transport GPs safely between primary care centres, patients’ homes, or any other locations as necessary for the GP to perform their duties.

• Drive an equipped CAV 24/7 or GP OOH vehicle and transport GPs safely to and from locations.
• Carry out accurate vehicle checks and maintain the vehicle in a clean and safe condition.
• Work flexible shifts, including Friday nights, daytime, evening and overnight shifts, as well as weekends.
• Assist the wider OOH team to provide an effective service, adhering to accepted policies and procedures.
• Maintain efficient service delivery and work closely with the wider OOH team.

• Holds a full, clean UK Drivers licence – Essential.
• Driving experience from previous roles – Desirable.
• Achieved education at GCSE level or equivalent – Essential.
• Experience of working with vehicles at work – Essential.
• Good communication skills with colleagues – Essential.
• Good organisational skills – Desirable.
• Able to confidently access basic computer systems (email, mandatory training and outlook packages, etc.) – Essential.
• Experience working in a face‑to‑face role with members of the public – Essential.
• Experience working within a health‑care sector – Desirable.
• Welsh language ability desirable;
  Welsh and/or English speakers equally welcome – Desirable.
