Job PurposeTo ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of assembled product and invoices to the customer within the corporate guidelines.
Key Accountabilities- Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
- Perform a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
- Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
- Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
- Ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day’s work.
- Maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
- Check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
- Collect goods returned for credit, mail, cheques or delivery bins and ensure safe return to the branch at all times.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Handle damages/breakages promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for Haz Chems.
- Maintain a smart appearance at all times.
- Help maintain good customer relations.
- Be involved in other duties as may be defined from time to time by Management.
- Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

- Safety Awareness – Being aware of conditions that affect employee safety.
- A full driving licence relevant to the vehicle being driven.
- Drivers must be over 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
- Existing employees must update fleet services with any changes to their licence status such as points on the licence or driving bans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer care.
- Intermediate numeracy and literacy.
- Previous experience of multi‑drop delivery driving.
- Route planning experience.
It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are "essential requirements" of this role.
