Shop Volunteer (Till & Customer Service - Cardigan)
Your local British Red Cross shop has a variety of activities available for volunteers. From sorting stock and preparing donated items for sale to providing great customer service to our donors and customers, we have something to suit most people’s interests. Our shop is a great place to learn new skills and share existing ones.
We are currently looking for Till & Customer Service volunteers to help us in our shop. If you have a positive outlook, enjoy speaking to new people and are confident in learning how to use a shop till, this may be for you.
Till & Customer Service volunteer - typical activities:
- Using the shop till to take payment for items
- Promoting Gift Aid to maximise our fundraising potential
- Helping and advising customers
- Undertaking general activities in the shop
No experience is needed. Full training will be provided.
When can I volunteer? A few hours during the week or weekend, as agreed with the shop manager. There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours; we only ask that we agree hours you are confident you can attend and that you let us know if these hours may change.
Interested? Please click on the apply button and we will be in contact soon.
Diversity is something we celebrate. We want you to be able to bring your authentic self to the Red Cross and feel that you belong. We want to create an inclusive environment and promote the power of kindness. We have an expenses policy that prioritises volunteers not being out of pocket for expenses linked to your role. If upfront costs are difficult, you can speak to your volunteering manager about alternatives.
We welcome refugees, asylum seekers and others currently in the UK to volunteer with us. We want volunteering to be accessible to everyone.
Health and Safety Statement
We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment and will have a conversation with you to discuss any adjustments you may need. Some locations may not be able to host 15-17 year olds; please get in touch so we can help you find a suitable volunteering opportunity.
