As S. W. Collins Company continues to grow, we are looking to expand our kitchen and bath design team. We are seeking a talented, motivated designer with prior experience to join our team at our Home Design Center.
Job DescriptionDesigners have the opportunity to build relationships and connect with people daily. They put their creative talents to use matching colors, finishes, styles, and trends to make customers’ dreams become reality. Our design team is involved with new construction and renovation projects from start to finish. With projects across our local communities, designers can be found on the job site, in our showroom and virtually to meet the needs of our customers.
Key skills include but aren t limited to project management, attention to detail, time management, and relationship management. Product knowledge is key to the success of our team and numerous training opportunities are provided throughout the year by S. W. Collins and our vendor network, as well as the National Kitchen and Bath Association. This is a challenging and rewarding position where every day and project is different than the one before.
Designers will build relationships with customers and help translate their vision into finished designs for kitchen and bath projects. The role supports projects from start to finish, across new construction and renovations, in person on job sites, in showrooms, and virtually.
- Engage with customers to understand needs and preferences
- Coordinate with vendors and resources to develop design plans
- Manage project timelines and deliverables
- Collaborate with installation teams to ensure design intent is met
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities
- Relevant experience preferred but not required
- 2020 (or similar) software proficiency preferred
- Solid communication skills (oral and written)
- Background in interior design and/or drafting preferred
- Strong customer relationship skills and the ability to build rapport with prospective and existing customers
- Ability to adapt and learn
- Motivated self-starter
- Excellent time management skills
