One‑On‑One Ed Tech Position - Caribou Community School

SCHOOL YEAR

Caribou Community School is seeking a caring, dedicated, and dependable One‑On‑One Educational Technician to join our supportive team for the 2025–2026 school year. This position involves working directly with a student or students requiring individualized support to access their educational program. • Provide direct support to an individual student throughout the school day, including during academic instruction, transitions, lunch, and recess.
• Implement behavior intervention plans, academic supports, and accommodations as directed by the special education team.
• Assist the classroom teacher in delivering individualized instruction and ensuring the student’s access to the curriculum.
• Foster independence, confidence, and social‑emotional development in the student.
• Maintain open communication with the special education teacher, classroom teacher, and other staff regarding student progress and needs.
• Document and report observations, behaviors, and student performance as required.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training related to the student’s needs and goals.
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
• Current Maine Department of Education authorization as an Educational Technician I, II, or III (or eligibility to obtain).
• Experience working with children in an educational or care setting (experience with students with disabilities is a plus).
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a collaborative team.
• Flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
