One‑On‑One Ed Tech Position - Caribou Community School
SCHOOL YEAR
Caribou Community School is seeking a caring, dedicated, and dependable One‑On‑One Educational Technician to join our supportive team for the 2025–2026 school year. This position involves working directly with a student or students requiring individualized support to access their educational program. RSU 39 is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
We believe every student deserves an advocate who helps them reach their full potential through compassion, consistency, and collaboration.
- Provide direct support to an individual student throughout the school day, including during academic instruction, transitions, lunch, and recess.
- Implement behavior intervention plans, academic supports, and accommodations as directed by the special education team.
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering individualized instruction and ensuring the student’s access to the curriculum.
- Foster independence, confidence, and social‑emotional development in the student.
- Maintain open communication with the special education teacher, classroom teacher, and other staff regarding student progress and needs.
- Document and report observations, behaviors, and student performance as required.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training related to the student’s needs and goals.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
- Current Maine Department of Education authorization as an Educational Technician I, II, or III (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience working with children in an educational or care setting (experience with students with disabilities is a plus).
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a collaborative team.
- Flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
