Position: Residential Care Director (RN)

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Residential Care Director (Registered Nurse) to oversee the daily operations and clinical care on our Residential Care Unit. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate is a licensed RN with strong leadership skills and a commitment to resident-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and administrative leadership for residential and nursing care services
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as MVH policies and procedures
  • Oversee care planning, assessments, and implementation of individualized resident care plans
  • Coordinates all required documentation including MDS, monthly resident status reports and progress notes, ensuring that documentation is informative, descriptive, and reflective of the resident's care plan
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing and residential care staff
  • Collaborate with physicians, families, interdisciplinary teams, and external providers
  • Monitor quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Participate in budgeting, staffing, and resource management
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for residents and staff

Requirements
  • Valid, unencumbered Registered Nurse License, authorized to work in the State of Maine, BSN preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of clinical experience; two (2) years in long-term care preferred.
  • Experience or training in such areas as geriatrics, residential care education, and dementia is desirable.
  • The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective leadership and engage in purposeful communication, as well as experiences that exhibit creativity, integrity, and initiative.
  • Ability to understand and respond to residents’ needs and inquiries in English is required.
  • Basic computer skills
