Assistant Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join our team, supporting our SEAT, Cupraand Peugeot sites in Carlisle.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering a basic salary of up to £30,000, depending on experience, plus an excellent range of company benefits.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an up-and-coming Assistant Accountant who is looking to develop their career, with a clear pathway to progress into a Management Accountant position within 6‑12 months.

Working closely with the Accountant, you will support the production of financial information, including spreadsheets and statistical data, to assist the management team in making informed business decisions.

In addition to day‑to‑day accounts, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the production of Management Accounts
• Forecasts and estimates
• Payroll support
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Accruals and prepayments
• Cash flow management
• Reconciling manufacturer bonuses
• Credit control

We are looking for an ambitious Assistant Accountant who is keen to take the next step in their career and progress into a Management Accountant role.

A working knowledge of Kerridge would be advantageous but not essential, and previous motor trade experience is desirable. More importantly, you will have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both financial and non‑financial colleagues.

You will also demonstrate:

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Confident and clear communication skills
