Clerk Typist, Band 2 – 37.5 hours per week (Monday‑Friday)

West Cumberland Hospital or Parkhouse South, Carlisle

This role is part of the Rheumatology service within the ICC & Community Collaborative. The service delivers locally‑based, patient‑focused care, and the Clerk Typist will support the clinical team through efficient administrative work.

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients, maintaining a professional, patient‑focused approach.
• Provide high‑standard administration support to the clinical team, liaising with other departments, NHS Trusts, external agencies and patients.
• Type professional letters and documents for all clinical staff and manage routine documentation.
• Support the efficient day‑to‑day delivery of the service, handling a busy workload with calm and effective prioritisation.

• GCSE in English language or equivalent.
• RSA Level 2 word‑processing or equivalent, or NVQ Level 2 in Administration.

• Proficient computer use.
• Experience in clerical or office‑based work.

• Teamwork and supportive communication.
• Initiative and ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines.
• Maintain high standards of work.
• Efficient use of IT systems.
