Provide a high standard of secretarial & administration support to the consultants, medical staff and their teams, interacting with other departments, patients, and wider healthcare colleagues. Act as a focal point of communication for the clinical team and assist the NCCCNC Administration Manager in organising the clinical team’s workload and the smooth running of the department. This post is not a Healthcare/Admin Hybrid.
Mainduties of the job
- New referral logging & appointments
- Producing Clinic Outcome report & letters
- Stationery & stores
- Outpatient waiting lists
- Clinic room booking & clinic builds
- Work within a team of administrative staff to provide comprehensive support to consultants, medical staff and other clinical team members such as specialist nurses and therapists.
- Communicate with patients regarding appointments and admissions at the request of the medical team.
- Provide cover for Team Leader within your administration team as required.
- Cover Clinical Administrator posts across the Trust as required.
- Level 3 qualification in administration or equivalent/relevant experience.
- English qualification at Level 2 (GCSE Grades 9‑4 or A*‑C, or functional or key skills at Level 2).
- Maths qualification at Level 1 (GCSE Grades 3‑2 or D‑F, or functional or key skills at Level 1).
- Experience of secretarial/administrative procedures.
- Experience in NHS administration/secretarial roles.
- Working knowledge of NHS systems (e.g., eRecord, System One).
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Advanced keyboard skills and high standard of word processing.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work on own initiative.
- Ability to accurately input, collate and present information.
