A well‑established residential developer is seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to support ongoing new‑build housing projects in the Carlisle area. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional to join a high-performing site team on either a freelance or permanent basis.

Your new role
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of new-build housing units, maintaining high standards of quality, health & safety, and programme performance.

Responsibilities include:

Assisting with day‑to‑day site operations across a live housing development
Supporting the coordination of subcontractors and trades
Monitoring build quality in line with NHBC and company standards
Ensuring site safety compliance and maintaining accurate site records
Contributing to progress meetings, reporting, and programme updates
Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and customer care teams

What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience as an Assistant Site Manager within new‑build housing
Strong knowledge of NHBC standards and residential construction methods
Valid SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications
Ability to manage multiple tasks and support a busy construction programme
Professional, organised, and committed to delivering a high‑quality product
