Lead Operative

We have an opportunity for someone to join our Construction team based in and around Carlisle. If you have experience working in a civils/building environment, we would love to hear from you.

• Report to the Site Manager and support the site team in the day‑to‑day delivery of the programme.
• Work closely with the Ganger to organise resources, plant and materials for the works.
• Set standards and act as a mentor to less experienced team members.
• Ensure compliance with safety expectations and project quality.
• Adapt to working weekends with the Rail division when necessary.

• Experience in a civils construction business.
• Full driving licence.
• Valid CSCS card and applicable dumper and roller tickets.
• Excellent civil engineering skills in earthworks, drainage, structures and concreting.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Capacity to engage with clients and build relationships.
