The Opportunity The role will be primarily focused around the Carlisle project , and as our client does not currently have an established office in the area, candidates will need to be comfortable with a degree of travel to site. We are particularly interested in hearing from Quantity Surveyors based across the North West , with a preference for candidates located north of Manchester who can realistically and consistently travel to Carlisle for the duration of the project.
Key Responsibilities As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of the roject, working closely with the wider project and commercial teams. Responsibilities are likely to include:
Supporting the commercial management of a major infrastructure project Monitoring project costs, budgets and financial performance Preparing and maintaining accurate cost forecasts Assisting with valuations, applications for payment and final accounts Managing subcontractor and supplier accounts Reviewing and assessing variations and changes Supporting the preparation and submission of commercial reports Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities Assisting with the management of contractual obligations Reviewing subcontractor accounts and ensuring costs are accurately captured Supporting change control and cost management processes Working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and other stakeholders Ensuring commercial processes are followed throughout the project lifecycle Providing accurate commercial information to support project decision-making About You We are looking for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor who is confident working within a project environment and is looking to develop their commercial career further.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor at Intermediate level NEC Contract Knowledge A background in civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities projects Experience working on large-scale or complex projects Strong commercial and cost management experience Good understanding of project financial controls
Experience with subcontract management and change control Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider commercial team A willingness to travel to Carlisle throughout the project duration Apply:
