Prism Arts is looking for a Performing Arts Lead to support learning-disabled and neurodivergent adults to develop their creative ideas, skills and confidence.

You’ll lead an inclusive performing arts programme, working alongside Prism Creatives to devise, rehearse and share work. Supporting people to shape their own artistic direction will be central to your approach, whether your practice is rooted in drama, theatre, dance, movement or music.

Working with the Creative Director and wider team, you’ll plan and deliver group and one-to-one activity, support performances and collaborations, and coordinate freelance facilitators, volunteers and interns. You’ll work closely with our Participant Support Lead to make sure access, communication and support needs are reflected in the programme.

About you

You’ll bring:

  • Experience of inclusive or disability-led performing arts practice.
  • Strong skills in one or more performing arts disciplines, to include a good working knowledge of theatre practice.
  • Experience of supporting people to devise, rehearse and share creative work.
  • An adaptable approach that responds to different access and communication needs and can work across different creative disciplines.
  • Experience of coordinating or supervising creative practitioners or volunteers.
  • Good organisation, communication and teamwork skills, alongside an understanding of safeguarding and safe performance practice.

We’re looking for someone who values each person’s creative voice and can combine artistic ambition with thoughtful, accessible delivery.

About the role

This is a permanent, part-time role working 2.5 days per week. Your working pattern will be agreed with the Creative Director, and will include one day of practical delivery every Friday. There will be protected time for planning, facilitator management and evaluation alongside delivery. Flexible working outside core delivery hours can be agreed.

Prism Arts values difference and is committed to an inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including learning-disabled, neurodivergent and disabled people.
