We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Carlisle team and make a meaningful contribution to the lives of our students. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated and supportive staff team, working to ensure that every student has access to the right resources, the right environment and the individualised support they need to thrive  successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary team in Carlisle, as well as within the wider Beaumont College and Salutem organisation.

You will play a key role in enabling students to experience an engaging, personalised and successful educational journey, supporting them to develop independence, confidence and essential life skills for adulthood.
Job Overview
To manage a caseload of students with complex learning, physical, emotional and sensory needs and/or behaviours of distress, including students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions.
To contribute to the integration of appropriate communication strategies within all curriculum pathways and within the residential provision to students.

The Role

Job Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of students with complex communication needs, ensuring they are effectively supported to access the curriculum. This will include assessment, delivery of targeted interventions, provision of clear recommendations, and ongoing monitoring and reporting of progress.

Contribute to college intake assessments and transition processes, ensuring communication needs are fully understood and supported at all stages of each student’s journey.
Support the delivery of both general and student-specific communication training, enabling staff to promote effective communication strategies across the college.
Actively promote a culture of best practice in communication by working collaboratively to differentiate the curriculum and evaluate the communication environment, identifying opportunities for development and training.
Maintain high professional standards by adhering to relevant guidelines, including accurate record-keeping, engagement in continuing professional development (CPD), participation in supervision and appraisal, and attendance at team and Community of Practice meetings.
Work collaboratively across departments and teams to support the organisation’s strategic priorities, contributing in a constructive and solution-focused manner.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to our students needs and organisational excellence, consistently delivering in line with the organisation’s quality framework.
Operate in accordance with organisational policies and procedures at all times.
Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Principal.
