Teacher Active is proud to be working with a welcoming SEND school in Carlisle that provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for children and young people with additional needs. The school is committed to delivering personalised learning experiences, promoting independence and ensuring every pupil is supported to achieve their full potential.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teacher on a long-term basis from September. The successful SEND Teacher will work with pupils across KS1 to KS5, with the opportunity to teach within a specific age range depending on experience and preference. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils, working collaboratively with support staff and therapists to provide the highest standard of education.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent

• Experience teaching children and young people with SEND, including Autism / ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties

• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

• The ability to differentiate lessons to meet a range of learning needs

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A patient, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to teaching
