Engineering Lecturer
Location: Carlisle
Contract: Bank / Temporary / Expression of Interest
Hours: Flexible

As an Engineering Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons, supporting learners across a range of engineering disciplines to develop the skills and knowledge required for further study or careers in the sector.
Key responsibilities- Delivering Engineering lessons (BTEC / City & Guilds / NVQ)
- Teaching across areas such as Mechanical, Electrical, or General Engineering
- Supporting practical workshop sessions and demonstrations
- Preparing learners for assessments, coursework, and exams
- Monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback
- Promoting health & safety within workshop environments
- Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Essential:
- Industry experience within Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related)
- Relevant engineering qualification (Level 3 or above)
- Teaching experience or willingness to move into education
- Strong practical and communication skills
- Ability to engage and support post-16 learners
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable:
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET)
- Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, or equivalent)
- Experience delivering BTEC / City & Guilds / NVQ qualifications
- Previous experience within Further Education
