Synopsis: My Client is seeking a Field Service Engineer from an Electrical / Electronic background responsible for Commissioning, Repair and Service on UPS systems. They offer a negotiable base salary up to £47k/£50k, with OTE around £55k+ depending on experience, plus pension, company car/van, phone, laptop, etc. Based in Cumbria (Carlisle) / Northwest.

Brief job descriptionMy Client is an international provider of UPS systems and solutions, delivering secure power and business continuity to customers worldwide. Their range of UPS systems and services protects a wide variety of organisations from the effects of poor quality electrical power and power supply interruptions. The Client seeks experienced Field Service Engineers to cover Cumbria, specifically Sellafield where supervision of the Client’s installation is required.
As an integral member of the Service Operations team, you will be responsible for providing commissioning, maintenance and repair services on industrial UPS, chargers and associated equipment supplied or maintained by the Client. This is a field-based position primarily UK-based, working on the industrial side of the Client’s business, which includes onshore / offshore Oil & Gas facilities and Nuclear locations.
Regular attendance at Sellafield is required.
- Provide commissioning, maintenance and repair services on industrial UPS systems, chargers and related equipment.
- Work as part of the Service Operations team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Cover Cumbria region with emphasis on Sellafield where supervision of installations is required.
- Operate in field-based settings, including onshore and offshore Oil & Gas facilities and Nuclear locations.
- Attend client sites regularly to support operations and service delivery.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Service Engineer.
- Experience in the Electrical/Electronic industry or similar.
- Ex-service personnel with transferable skills or recent graduates with related early career experience will also be considered.
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction and long-term customer relationship building.
- HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of operating with minimal supervision.
- Experience working on industrial sites (Power stations, Oil & Gas locations, Nuclear facilities) would be an advantage.
- Ability to interface with various departments and personnel in potentially stressful situations.
- Clean driving licence.
- IT capability; a laptop computer or equivalent is used for interfacing with the Company’s products and for completing service reports and timesheets.
