Role & Company Overview:
My client is a world leading, tier 1 civil engineering contractor. They are currently working on some of the largest projects within the UK. Most of their projects include highways, rail, aviation, tunnelling, nuclear and heavy infrastructure schemes. You will be based on one of their major projects which has an estimated life cycle of 15 years!
As the HSE Advisor you will be working with all departments and projects to ensure the highest standards of Health, Safety & Environment are met throughout the business. Provide appropriate information, support, assurance and challenge to Project teams to help achieve the companies requirements and drive continual improvement.
Experience with in civil engineering is required. Responsibilities:
Support the development, implementation, management and monitoring of the Safety, Health and Environmental Management system, ensuring updates reflect changes in legislation and best practice.
Help develop content for HSE training and awareness programmes.
Support the implementation of the company's construction behavioural safety programme, BRAVE.Conduct inspections and audits with relevant management teams to ensure Company, Client and legislative requirements are met, recommending improvements where needed.
Support or lead the investigation and recording of close calls, near misses and other business incidents.
Carry out all health and safety duties with honesty and professional integrity.
Support the management of key HSE data, enabling accurate trend analysis and ensuring appropriate responses are developed where trends are identified.
Help develop Occupational Health and Wellbeing campaigns to increase awareness across the business.
Support the HSE Manager by providing health and safety input for tenders and pre-qualification submissions.
Assist the HSE Manager in implementing the company's Health and Safety business strategy.
Cooperate fully with IOSH and comply with its Charter, Byelaws and Regulations.
