Interim Financial Controller

Job Title: Interim Finance ControllerLocation: CarlisleDuration: Fixed-Term Contract

We are looking for a highly experienced Interim Finance Controller to join our client's finance team and take ownership of the finance function during a key period. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior finance professional to make an immediate impact, drive financial processes, and provide strategic insight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the day-to-day financial operations of the business

• Preparing accurate management accounts, financial reports, and KPI dashboards

• Leading month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and reporting

• Ensuring compliance with statutory and internal accounting policies

• Driving process improvements, implementing controls, and streamlining finance operations

• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning

• Acting as a key finance advisor to senior management and stakeholders

• Mentoring and supporting junior finance team members

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally as a Finance Controller or Senior Accountant

• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with management reporting

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Confidence communicating complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders

• Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments

• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems; ERP experience is a plus

• Highly organised, proactive, and able to take ownership of key financial initiatives
