Clark Wood is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Carlisle for a Tax Manager. This opportunity would suit either an established Tax Manager looking for a fresh challenge or an experienced Tax Senior or Assistant Manager ready to take the next step in their career.

You will manage a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, family-run companies, and private clients, delivering both compliance and advisory services across Personal Tax, Capital Gains Tax, and Inheritance Tax.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and develop a portfolio of personal tax clients.
- Prepare and review Personal, Partnership, and Capital Gains Tax returns.
- Deliver proactive tax planning advice and identify commercial tax‑saving opportunities.
- Handle HMRC enquiries and correspondence.
- Support clients on a range of tax advisory matters, including Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax planning.
- Mentor and support junior members of the tax team.
- ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified (or qualified by experience).
- Currently working as a Tax Manager, Assistant Manager, or an experienced Tax Senior looking to progress into management.
- Excellent technical knowledge of UK personal taxation and tax planning.
