Every year, we support around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services - and it's all made possible by our 3,500 brilliant staff and volunteers.

Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it's a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our North Cumbria RSC Team as a Recovery Co-ordinator—a rewarding and impactful role where you'll support individuals to achieve lasting change.

Recovery Co-ordination is a varied and meaningful position, where you'll work closely with individuals at different stages of their recovery journey. From initial engagement through to sustained recovery, you'll provide person-centred support that empowers people to improve their health, wellbeing and independence.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage a caseload, developing, implementing and reviewing tailored recovery and treatment plans
  • Support and motivate individuals to progress from engagement through structured treatment to sustained recovery
  • Deliver interventions that reduce substance-related harm to individuals, families and the wider community
  • Work collaboratively with key partners and colleagues to achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes
About you

You are passionate about making a difference, with a strong commitment to fairness, inclusion and providing opportunities for all.

You will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), or be willing to work towards this in post. You'll bring a solid understanding of evidence-based interventions, including brief interventions, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Psychosocial Interventions (PSI), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and ITEP.

You will also have experience delivering both one-to-one and group-based therapeutic interventions, with the ability to build positive, supportive relationships that encourage and sustain change.

Who will you be working with

You'll be part of our North Cumbria RSC Team—a supportive, multi-disciplinary team made up of professionals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

The team includes Recovery Co-ordinators, independent prescribers, group workers, outreach workers, Individual Placement Specialists and dedicated volunteers. Together, we are committed to creating a welcoming environment and delivering high-quality support that promotes recovery within our local community.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Abbie Dent, Lead Practitioner on (phone number removed).
