Role Overview The organisation is seeking a motivated and experienced IT Technician to provide hands-on technical support across a portfolio of clients in Swindon, with one visit to Chippenham approximately once a fortnight. This is a field-based role requiring someone who is comfortable working independently across multiple sites, engaging confidently with staff, and managing a varied and dynamic workload. The role is ideal for someone with 2 to 3 years of IT support experience who is looking to build their career in a public-sector environment.

Key Responsibilities Provide on-site IT support for staff across multiple sites Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network systems Support staff with day-to-day technical issues and promote IT best practices Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection, and security standards Maintain accurate records of IT issues, resolutions, and equipment inventory Travel between sites as required, managing your own schedule effectively Essential Skills & Experience 2 to 3 years of experience in an IT support role Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Office 365, and common hardware Solid understanding of network fundamentals and troubleshooting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential) Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one prior to starting Experience in a public sector setting (desirable) Desirable Skills Experience supporting multi-site environments Knowledge of safeguarding and data protection Benefits 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Mileage allowance for travel between sites Training and professional development opportunities Exposure to a wide range of technologies across multiple environments
