IT Systems & Network Engineer

A successful and growing international manufacturing business is looking to appoint an IT Systems & Network Engineer to support its UK operations from its Carlisle site.

This is a hands-on infrastructure role offering broad exposure across desktop support, networking, telecommunications, local servers and IT project delivery, whilst working closely with a wider global technology team.

The business operates in a highly automated engineering and manufacturing environment and is continuing to invest in its technology estate.

As the IT Systems & Network Engineer, you will support the day-to-day operation of the site's technology environment while contributing to ongoing infrastructure improvements and technology refresh projects.

The position combines user support, network troubleshooting, server support, telecommunications and infrastructure maintenance.

You'll work closely with local users and international IT colleagues to ensure a secure, reliable and high-performing IT environment.

• Supporting desktop, laptop and mobile device environments
• Troubleshooting infrastructure, network, telephony and hardware issues
• Supporting LAN connectivity and local technology infrastructure
• Managing technology deployments, upgrades and refresh projects
• Supporting VoIP telephony and communication systems
• Installing operating systems, software updates and security patches
• Supporting local file, print and domain services
• Maintaining documentation and adhering to global IT standards
• Participating in project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives
• Providing occasional out-of-hours and on-call support when required.
