Highways Team Leader

Join Cumberland Council as a Highways Team Leader and lead a small, skilled team in delivering essential highway maintenance across Cumbria.

• Supervise and organise a team of up to five operatives.
• Oversee highway maintenance tasks, including patching, drainage works, bridge maintenance, and traffic management.
• Ensure safety, quality, and performance on site.

• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of highway materials and maintenance processes.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Certification in abrasive wheels.
• Experience with plant and equipment.
• Desirable: NVQs in Highway Maintenance or Team Leadership.
• Desired certificates: CSCS, HIAB, NRSWA.
