Location:
Carlisle
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Friday – rotating shifts (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm / 10pm–6am)
Our client is a large, global manufacturing organisation operating within a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a mechanically biased Mechanical Engineer to strengthen their site-based engineering team in Carlisle.

The Role As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability and performance of production machinery and site equipment. Working as part of a multi-skilled engineering team, you will support continuous production while driving high engineering and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive mechanical maintenance
Mechanical fault finding and breakdown repair on manufacturing equipment
Working on conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors, hydraulics and pneumatics
Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with site H&S standards
Contributing to root cause analysis and reduction of repeat failures
Liaising with production teams to minimise downtime
The Person We are looking for a hands-on, mechanically biased engineer who thrives in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
Key Requirements:
Time-served apprenticeship or recognised mechanical engineering qualification
Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding background
Experience with in a manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial environment
Comfortable working rotating shifts
Proactive, reliable, and team-focused approach Desirable:
Basic electrical knowledge (not essential)
Experience with continuous improvement or TPM environments The Package
Salary of £50,000 per annum
Monday to Friday rotating shifts (no weekends)
