Do you want to play a key role in supporting vulnerable adults and young people to volunteer in one of Cumbria’s best-loved cultural venues?

Join the dedicated Tullie team as the Volunteering Assistant, supporting volunteer engagement with Breaking Down Barriers – Phase 3 of Project Tullie, the museum’s major capital development programme which celebrates our roots as Carlisle’s centre for learning and creativity and reimagines them for 21st century audiences.

This fixed-term post will support our Volunteer Manager to deliver our Phase 3 Volunteering Strategy, which focusses on creating more opportunities for people to engage with the collections, activities and gallery spaces  you’re a people person with excellent admin and IT skills who is passionate about supporting others to build their skills and enhance their wellbeing then we’d love to hear from you.

Working in close collaboration with colleagues across the Museum, this is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of this transformational project for Carlisle and Cumbria.

Purpose of the Role

Supporting the Volunteer Manager to recruit, support, and train volunteers for Project Tullie Phase 3 ‘Breaking Down Barriers’, with a particular focus on:

  • Building diverse representation within Tullie’s volunteer workforce, with an emphasis on priority protected characteristics.
  • Offering bespoke, individual support for adults and young people in need of additional support to volunteer.
  • Supporting with wellbeing and training opportunities for volunteers.
  • Support the administration and delivery of the Active Gallery Volunteer Training programme
