Retail Assistant – Part Time (Carlisle, Cumbria)

We are looking to recruit a new Retail Assistant for our shop in Carlisle, Cumbria. This is a permanent part‑time role working a variety of shifts with a minimum of 20 hours over four days each week, including weekends.

• Hours:
  
  20 hours per week (across 4 days)
• Pay: £10.10 – £12.31 per hour (age based)
• Pay rates:
  • Age 16‑20: £10.10 per hour
  • Age 21+: £12.31 per hour

• Make every customer feel welcomed with a friendly smile and simple hello.
• Help customers find the items they are looking for.
• Provide fast and friendly service at the tills, offer packing help, and leave a good impression with a courteous thank‑you and goodbye.
• Handle stock carefully, work deliveries and place products into freezers and shelves for customers.
• Collaborate with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean and tidy.

• Enjoy working in a busy environment – tasks vary from deliveries to till work to cleaning and stock rotation.
• Reliable – essential to a small team where colleagues and customers depend on you to do your best on each shift.
• Flexible with shifts; ability to cover for teammates during holidays; rotations planned three weeks in advance with consideration for external commitments.

Many Retail Assistants progress within Farmfoods to Shop Manager, Area Manager, or central services positions. We provide training programmes and promote from within.
