As a Trading Assistant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our stores are set up brilliantly to give our customers everything they come to Sainsbury’s for.

• The minimum application age is 18.
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.

• Collect stock from the warehouse using heavy roll cages (up to 15 kg) to replenish a variety of items across the store, keeping shelves clean, tidy and well‑presented.
• Support customers when the store is open, answering questions and proactively offering help.
• Check dates on fresh produce and grocery products.
• Assist across the store as needed and support with deliveries as required.
• Build knowledge about products, services and promotions to provide recommendations.

• Happy working overnight in a fast‑paced, physical, high‑energy environment, often alone but able to thrive as part of a team.
• Friendly and welcoming with genuine enthusiasm for helping customers.
• Takes responsibility for owning tasks and uses initiative to solve problems.
• Prepared to work flexibly and productively across the store to a high standard – fully trained in a variety of skills, with opportunities to learn, develop and try new things.
• Comfortable learning to use new digital tools and technology for the job.
• Great attention to detail, keeping the store clean and clutter‑free, and always looking to create the best shopping experience.

• Night shift premium – an additional £2.45 per hour worked between midnight and 5 am (where applicable).
