Senior Software Engineer – Embedded Network

We are partnering with a highly innovative technology organization to identify a seasoned Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join their engineering team. This role will focus on developing high‑performance, secure embedded networking solutions for mission‑critical applications. The ideal candidate brings a deep background in C/C++ development within embedded Linux environments and a strong grasp of network protocols and cybersecurity standards.

Linthicum Heights, MD

Required: U.S. Citizenship and active Secret or Top Secret Clearance

Compensation: Salary: $160,000 – $255,000 annual (DOE);

• Lead design and integration of embedded networking software, including device drivers and high‑speed data protocols.
• Drive development efforts within an agile team focused on secure communications products.
• Implement and maintain scalable, secure Linux‑based network systems.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity experts to align solutions with evolving security requirements and certifications.
• Contribute to continuous integration and testing strategies for embedded software deployments.
• Support product development from initial architecture through integration and final certification.

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience with C/C++ in embedded system development.
• Deep expertise with Linux, including kernel module development and networking stack.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, IPSec, MACsec, TLS, etc.).
• Experience with object‑oriented design and agile scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• US Citizenship is required; must be eligible for or hold an active Secret Clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for collaboration and testing.

• Exposure to advanced networking technologies such as DPDK or hardware acceleration.
• Background with Xilinx tools (Vivado, Petalinux) and embedded device drivers.
• Experience with microprocessor platforms like ARM, RISC‑V, or NIOS.
• Understanding of real‑time systems and multi‑threaded development.
• Familiarity with network interface frameworks like RESTConf.
• Python development skills and experience working in emulation environments.
