Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Specialist, RF/Wireless Engineer, to support our Next Gen TDL products. Among them the STT sustaining, STT Next development, and the BATS line of products.
The RF/Wireless Engineer will be responsible for for RF design and Integration of both new and existing radio transceivers within the Tactical Data Link (TDL) universe. Using RF analysis tools and techniques, he/she will use proven knowledge of RF and mixed signal designs to provide a new level of capability within L3
Harris products, and/or troubleshoot existing products. Working alongside peers, Systems, Digital Hardware and Test Engineers, then new engineer will take existing and advanced designs to new levels to bring about the next generation of L3
Harris TDL products.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- RF, analog and mixed signal hardware
- Experience using various lab equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, RF Probes, Power Meters, Network Analyzers, and Vector Signal Generators
- Experience in RF circuit design and simulation, in fields such as
- Low-noise amplification for receivers
- frequency synthesis and PLLs
- signal transmission
- frequency up conversion/down conversion
- Analog to Digital and D/A conversion
- Filtering
- Power amplifiers
- Design for airborne and space equipment
- EMI
- Knowledgeable in RF system design, wireless communications, and signal processing
- Ability to independently analyze, test, and debug RF and Mixed Signal design, which may include digital HW and/or power regulators and switchers
- Experience with RF simulation tools such as ADS, AWR, SPICE, HFSS, Nuhertz, etc.
- Team player – able to productively contribute work, ideas and collaboration as part of a team.
- Problem solving skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines
- Presentation and communication skills (verbal/written/visual)
- US citizenship, and ability to obtain a US DoD Security Clearance, as required
- DoD Security clearance
- Proficiency in schematic capture (using CAD tools such as DxDesigner/Expedition) and PCB layout techniques for RF circuits
- Experience in creating test scripts, and using automation for validating circuits, and working with test software for controlling a unit under test
- Experience with Matlab programming, and understanding existing scripts
- Some experience with Lab View, Test Stand, or Python
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater
D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is [$95,000 - $177,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $83,000 - $177,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
