We are seeking an ambitious digital hardware design engineer to help us design custom circuit technology for software-defined radio applications. As a member of our team, you’ll help us build groundbreaking digital and RF circuits for the special operations and intelligence communities to address challenging national security problems and enable planning and decision making in domains as diverse as active threat deterrence, signal intelligence, cyber operations, machine learning, image processing, and applied data analytics.

You’ll join a multidisciplinary team of engineers who believe in fostering an open, collaborative work environment to solve complex problems.

As a Digital Hardware Design Engineer, you will assist in the development of communications systems through board-level integration of high-speed digital components, commercially available chipsets, and embedded processors. Product Design:
Schematic Capture, Simulations, PCB analysis and layout.

• Design custom digital circuit cards using schematic capture tools, incorporating FPGAs, embedded processors, networking components, and other electronic components.
• Implement industry-standard interfaces and memory technologies, including 1GE, 10GE, 40GE, 100GE, SPI, UART, SDRAM, DDR3, DDR4, JESD, PCIe, and 1000
  
  BASE-T.
• Develop and maintain circuit card documentation, including requirements, test procedures, and bills of materials.
• Characterize circuit card performance across a wide range of environmental conditions.
• Perform detailed functional and performance measurements, troubleshoot issues, and debug circuit cards.
• Support test engineering in transitioning circuit card testing to manufacturing.
• Participate in design reviews and support circuit card integration into larger systems.

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

• Master’sDegree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with circuit card assemblied and digital hardware design experience.
• Familiar with lab test equipment.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with digital circuit card verification, schematic capture, PCB Layout.
• Experience in laboratory debug techniques using digital scopes, logic analyzers, BERTS, and other complex measurement devices.
• Experience with Mentor Graphic’s tools is preferred.
• Familiarity with code revision management tools such as Git/Clear Case.
• Familiarity with Confluence or other information sharing tools.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $106,500 - $197,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
