Job SummaryThe HR Business Partner maintains and enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and HR policies that improve the work environment while supporting organizational priorities. This includes performance management, coaching, talent management, compensation, workforce planning, change management, data analysis, employee engagement, relations, and compliance.
Location:
Carlsbad, CA. The role partners with local HR representatives across North American sites.
Salary range: $90,000 – $130,000, depending on experience.
Primary Responsibilities- Manages the on‑time delivery of planned implementation and change management activities for HR initiatives.
- Partners with company‑wide and HR functions to recommend and execute business solutions.
- Provides and manages all employee relation issues and investigations.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state HR requirements.
- Develops and maintains a human resources communication system to meet top management needs.
- Administers performance review and salary administration programs for effectiveness, compliance, and equity.
- Assists in creating evaluation strategies to assess cost effectiveness and business impact of programs.
- Counsels and supports managers through implementations, ensuring minimal disruption to business performance.
- Consults and provides recommendations to employees and managers on HR matters, best practices, and organizational development.
- Supports identification, prioritization, and communication of business needs and follows up on service level agreements.
- Ensures disciplined approaches and processes for change are utilized for all change projects.
- Delivers and conducts training, focus groups, and employee engagement activities.
- Supports execution of development programs within the business.
- Facilitates engagement survey action planning.
- Creates action plans for policy and procedure changes.
- Ensures compliance of talent review sessions including succession planning and follow‑up development plans.
- Ensures all projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization policies.
- Implements and maintains department policies and standards.
- Oversees immigration compliance and related programs such as safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
- BA/BS degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner role or similar.
- Demonstrated program/project management skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of human resource practices.
- 5+ years of experience using Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PPT, etc.).
- Ability to manage tasks across business lines and with external partners.
- Experience driving change and leading initiatives.
- Strong leadership and influence skills.
- Able to lead, develop, and mentor an HR Coordinator.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills; professional communication with coworkers, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to prioritize in a time‑sensitive, deadline‑driven environment.
- Strong business arithmetic and problem‑solving ability.
- Proven multi‑tasking, setting priorities, and establishing goals for self and staff.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Positive attitude, self‑motivated, and eager to succeed.
- Required to sit, talk or hear; frequently use hands.
- Occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Vision suitable for computer use.
- Manual dexterity suitable for computer use.
