Harris is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Infrastructure Engineer to join our Carlsbad, CA team. This role requires proven expertise across Ubuntu, Red Hat, and Windows environments, enterprise networking (Cisco, Juniper), and hands-on experience supporting classified and air-gapped systems. The engineer will design, implement, and secure infrastructure aligned with DoD Collateral requirements, DISA STIGs, NIST RMF, and FIPS compliance standards while enabling mission-critical operations.

Essential Functions:

* Engineer and oversee administration of Linux (Ubuntu/Red Hat) and Windows Server enterprise environments, ensuring mission-critical uptime and compliance in classified domains.

* Architect, configure, and direct operations of Cisco and Juniper networking equipment within classified/air-gapped networks, ensuring strict adherence to 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), DAAPM, JSIG, NIST standards, and CCRI readiness.

* Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of VMware ESXi infrastructures, including migrations from bare metal to virtualized environments.

* Manage and safeguard Net App storage solutions, ensuring data integrity, continuity of operations, and secure handling of classified data.

* Implement and govern enterprise Splunk platforms for centralized logging, monitoring, and compliance reporting, aligning outputs with DCSA and DoD audit requirements.

* Oversee audit and incident response by reviewing electronic and manual logs, investigating anomalies, and directing remediation of identified security incidents.

* Conduct and validate enterprise vulnerability management through Nessus scanning, application of DISA STIGs, and enforcement of FIPS-validated cryptography.

* Direct enterprise endpoint management leveraging Ivanti for patch automation, compliance enforcement, and lifecycle sustainment of systems.

* Lead NIST RMF activities by authoring and reviewing accreditation documentation, validating technical controls, and in preparation for DCSA audits.

* Provide Tier III support for escalated issues and lead troubleshooting efforts.

* Collaborate with senior security leadership (ISSM, FSO, Program Managers) to ensure continuous system compliance and readiness for government assessment.

* Maintain eligibility and clearance standards by holding a current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret post-hire

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related discipline; advanced degree or equivalent senior-level experience strongly preferred.

* Active Secret clearance required; ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI clearance post-hire.
Preferred Skills ualifications:
* Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT and security experience, with a proven record in systems administration, cybersecurity engineering, and secure infrastructure management.

* Extensive expertise in applying the Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST SP 800-53 controls, and compliance with DCSA/DAAPM and related DoD standards.

* Deep technical proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu/Red Hat) and Windows Server operating systems, including hardening, patching, and performance optimization in classified environments.

* Proven leadership in architecting, deploying, and securing enterprise network infrastructures, with strong understanding of Cisco, Juniper, and cross-domain networking protocols.

* Expert-level knowledge of virtualization (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V) and containerization technologies, including secure deployment within mission-critical systems.

* Experience with virtualization technologies and containerization.

* Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework and its application in securing IT systems.

* Superior communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to brief senior leadership, government assessors, and cross-functional teams.

* Proven ability to operate independently while mentoring and collaborating across technical and security teams to achieve enterprise-wide objectives.
