Job Overview
:
We are seeking a versatile Lab & Assembly Technician to support our engineering team in developing cutting-edge battery technology and electronics. This role combines the responsibilities of a lab and assembly technician, involving hands-on work with electronics, including the building of battery packs and needed sub-components.
Responsibilities
:
- Assemble and rework electronic components, including soldering, crimping, and creating wire harnesses
- Conduct tests on circuit boards and electronic systems, logging results and generating test reports
- Develop and maintain spec sheets for internal and external use
- Create and manage internal databases using Excel and Word for documentation purposes
- Assist with troubleshooting and diagnostics of electronic systems
- Support the team by maintaining lab equipment, organizing supplies, and ensuring smooth lab operations
Required Qualifications
:
- Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework in progress toward a relevant degree
- Advanced proficiency in soldering and rework, including fine-pitch components, surface mount (SMT), and through-hole soldering
- Hands-on experience with rework stations and techniques for PCB repair and modification
- Familiarity with testing equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies) and logging results
- Strong skills in Word and Excel for documentation and databasing
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
:
- Experience in creating and interpreting spec sheets for electronics
- Knowledge of wire harness design and troubleshooting techniques
- Previous experience in a lab technician or test engineering role
